Clear Water Glassing is a full-service surfboard manufacturing facility offering over 25 years of professional board building expertise to local shapers of all skill levels and brand sizes. Based in Southern California, we’re proud to serve the surf community with complete production capabilities—from start to finish.

Our services include CNC surfboard cutting, glassing, sanding, polishing, airbrushing, shaping, ghost shaping, resin tinting, cloth inlays, fin setting, fin box and leash plug installation, glass-on leash loops, custom boards, surfboard restoration, ding repair, and shaping bay rentals.

The story of Clear Water Glassing begins with founder Ray Promer, who started sweeping floors at the iconic 311 Surf Shop on 5th Street in Huntington Beach at just 14 years old. Under the mentorship of James Vartanian, Ray shaped his first surfboard that same year and was soon surfing his own designs throughout high school. By 1996, he had printed his first logos—marking the early stages of what would become a lifelong career in surfboard craftsmanship.

In 2000, Ray launched Clear Water Glassing, combining hands-on artistry with technical precision to support shapers and surfers alike. Today, Clear Water Glassing continues to stand for quality, reliability, and the passion that fuels Southern California’s surf industry.
